Monaco Fashion - Elizabeth Wessel

A few weeks ago, I attended my first fashion show in Monaco for Monaco-based couture designer Elizabeth Wessel. It was a very glamorous affair, held in an elegant bar called Black Legends by the port of Monaco.
Elizabeth is a couturier who studied in Paris at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne and after having success with her own boutiques in Paris and Columbia, as well as spending many years designing for the Japanese market, she returned her focus to Monaco where she now shows twice a year to an International clientele.

Her Spring/Summer 2011 collection, titled 'La Mer du Nord' was inspired by her childhood holidays in Denmark and she used a very Nordic colour palette of greys, blues and greens with injections of sunshine yellow, lilac and pink.
Featuring luxurious light knitwear with flowing silk, draped jersey and cool cottons, it was a beautiful collection of feminine, ladylike elegance with some occasional vintage references to the 1920's, 30's and 40's.

Below are some highlights from her collection, to view the full collection, visit: www.elizabeth-wessel.com

bientôt,
