Frédérique Marlène Kragbé collection @ Cannes Shopping Week

So by luck of meeting a very lovely lady called Beatrice at an event one evening, I was given a VIP invite to view the Spring/Summer 2011 couture collection of a local Cote D'Azur designer called Frédérique Marlène Kragbé.
This designer aspires to two aspects very close to my own heart: vintage styling and strong environmental awareness. How could I not like her?!
Her couture collection entitled “Ballet de L’Autre Côté du Miroir” (Ballet the other side of the mirror) is a beautiful collection of vintage inspired pieces in soft ice cream colours for daywear with stronger colours for eveningwear. All of her pieces are created from recycled fabrics or garments using silks, organza and laces from vintage eras in the past. And all of her creations are handmade in France to reduce the carbon impact on the environment. Below are a few of her creations....

A day in the life of a freelance designer

Last week I was working with denim brand Legzskin based in Cannes. While we were working outside on the terrace on the Spring/Summer 2012 collection, the photoshoot for AW2011 was taking place inside.
Our photographer Sylvain came from Paris for a few days of photoshooting around the area, Cannes & St Tropez, for the new AW Legzskin catalogue. And as soon as the perfect shots have been chosen, I will of course share some on here.....

Monaco Fashion - Elizabeth Wessel

A few weeks ago, I attended my first fashion show in Monaco for Monaco-based couture designer Elizabeth Wessel. It was a very glamorous affair, held in an elegant bar called Black Legends by the port of Monaco.
Elizabeth is a couturier who studied in Paris at the Ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture Parisienne and after having success with her own boutiques in Paris and Columbia, as well as spending many years designing for the Japanese market, she returned her focus to Monaco where she now shows twice a year to an International clientele.

Her Spring/Summer 2011 collection, titled 'La Mer du Nord' was inspired by her childhood holidays in Denmark and she used a very Nordic colour palette of greys, blues and greens with injections of sunshine yellow, lilac and pink.
Featuring luxurious light knitwear with flowing silk, draped jersey and cool cottons, it was a beautiful collection of feminine, ladylike elegance with some occasional vintage references to the 1920's, 30's and 40's.

Below are some highlights from her collection, to view the full collection, visit: www.elizabeth-wessel.com

Kelly Brook for Max Italia

I quite like Kelly Brook. I think she's got quite a cute, quirky sense of energy and style about her, so I think this recent photoshoot she did for Italian men's magazine Max probably relects her quite well.
It's a little bit tongue-in-cheek, a little bit retro and alot of fun by the looks of it! Not to mention the cute lingerie, well......when she's wearing it.....

Suite B - new brand launch....

Just discovered a very gorgeous new lingerie label called Suite B, which will be launched for AW11 with their first collection
They aim to create 'affordable luxury lingerie' and it will be available in A-F sizes and will be stocked in independent boutiques, speciality retail chains and department stores. I haven't found a website link for them yet, but I will be keeping an eye out for them! For me, the range has a similar feel to the Elle Macpherson range, perhaps more high end. And their model has a similar look to Rosie Huntingdon-Whitely. I look forward to seeing more.....
